 Scouts: Blaze Your Trail!

Enjoy mountain biking, rock-climbing, canoeing, kayaking, extended hikes and lots of camping. These are just a few of the adventures you can tackle in Scouting.

You'll enjoy your outdoor adventures as part of a team, working together with other young people to accomplish thrilling challenges.

Scouting gives every member a chance to be a leader. It might involve running an activity, organizing a camp, or participating with other young people across your province or Canada in a youth forum.

Our Troop plans for 6-8 weekends, and 1 week-long camp each year. We also endeavor to host a night hike at least once per month during our regular meeting time. Our outdoor adventures are many, varied and lots of fun.

Throughout the Scouting program (Beavers through Rovers), youth work towards mastery of a variety of Outdoor Adventure Skills including:

  • Camping Skills

  • Aquatic Skills

  • Paddling Skills

  • Winter Skills

  • Emergency Skills

  • Vertical Skills

  • Trail Skills

  • Scoutcraft Skills

  • Sailing Skills

There are a number of badges and awards that a Scout can earn while participating in our program as well as on their own at home. Follow the link for the guide to the Scout Journey Chart

Each Scout can also view requirements and track their progress of the Personal Achievement Badges and Outdoor Adventure Skills using the ScoutsTracker website.

A Scout wears their uniform to all scouting events. To purchase a uniform follow the link to ScoutShop.ca.

Scout Promises

Scout Law

Scout Motto

On my honour; I promise that I will do my best; To do my duty to God and the Queen; To help other people at all times; and to carry out the spirit of the Scout Law.

A Scout is helpful and trustworthy,
Kind and cheerful,
Considerate and clean,
and wise in the use of all resources.

Be Prepared.

On my honour; I promise that I will do my best, To respect my country and my beliefs, To help other people at all times; and to carry out the spirit of the Scout Law.

* By providing an additional promise for members to choose from - Scouts Canada can create an open space for youth to express their unique dedication. Now is the opportunity to further reflect Scouts Canada's relevancy and commitment to diversity and inclusion in an ever changing world, by welcoming a new alternative Scout Promise.
