 Venturers: Climb Higher

Enjoy mountain biking, rock-climbing, canoeing, kayaking, extended hikes and lots of camping. These are just a few of the adventures you'll tackle as a Venturer. Venturer Scouts enjoy outdoor adventures as part of a team, working together with other young people to accomplish thrilling challenges. There are many opportunities to be a leader and connect with Venturer Scouts from other groups.

Our Venturers and Rovers run a combined Company and Crew. They go camping 4-6 times per year, providing they have all of the necessary training for the chosen adventure. Venturers and Rovers are able to participate in activities and camping trips without Scouter supervision. Some of our most recent adventures include Treetop Trekking, High Ropes and White Water Rafting. The youth run their own program with the guidance of Scouters along the way.

Venturers wear a uniform to bi-monthly business meetings, camps, ceremonies and community events, such as the Annual Community Service Soup Luncheon. To purchase a uniform follow the link to ScoutShop.ca.

The focus of a Venturer is on the badges of The Canadian Path. They are used to celebrate the personal journey of youth in Scouting. They mark the milestones of the journey and celebrate youth achievements. Youth can use The Journey Chart to help plan their adventures.

Each Venturer Scout can also view requirements and track their progress of the Personal Achievement Badges and Outdoor Adventure Skills using the ScoutsTracker website.

Venturer Scout Promises

Venturer Scout Law

Venturer Scout Motto

On my honour; I promise that I will do my best; To do my duty to God and the Queen; To help other people at all times; and to carry out the spirit of the Scout Law.

A Scout is helpful and trustworthy,
Kind and cheerful,
Considerate and clean,
and wise in the use of all resources.

Challenge.

On my honour; I promise that I will do my best, To respect my country and my beliefs, To help other people at all times; and to carry out the spirit of the Scout Law.

* By providing an additional promise for members to choose from - Scouts Canada can create an open space for youth to express their unique dedication. Now is the opportunity to further reflect Scouts Canada's relevancy and commitment to diversity and inclusion in an ever changing world, by welcoming a new alternative Scout Promise.
